Loire Gestamp installs a hot stamping line in the new plant of Pune (India)
Gestamp, a Spanish multinational company specialized in the design, development and manufacture of metal components for the automotive industry, has invested 36 million euros in a new plant specialized in hot stamping lines in Pune (India). This plant will serve Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA), Ford and Tata.
The plant has entrusted Loire Gestamp with the supply of a new state-of-the-art hot stamping line. In this new facility, a hot stamping line has been implemented with a 1,200-ton press equipped with automatic tooling change connections and thermographic cameras. In addition, this line has been monitored to provide information to identify alarms and unforeseen events, as well as areas for improvement in order to achieve higher productivity and quality.
A global hot stamping supplier
Hot stamping is one of the solutions that enables manufacturers to lighten the weight of the body structure, resulting in reduced emissions. The hot stamping process also improves crash behavior and contributes to passenger safety.

The company has more than 70 hot stamping lines in the world. Thanks to this technology, the weight of body parts can be reduced by up to 30%.
